Abstract

The workshop we have been working on is about a Case Report of an infant, 5 years age. He has a diagnosis of Cerebral Palsy due to a periventricular leukomalacia, coursing with spastic tetraparesia which congenital aetiology. We made an assessment and treatment based on the brain-motor retraining according to Le Métayer. The final results we obtained in the brain-motor assessment and a consequent functional prognostic (potentiality) is Grade 3 (difficult function) or 4 (impossible function), which means difficult functionality, or impossibility to develop any function, respectively. The treatment was head to prevent joints deformities and possible luxation, muscular preparation for a better lengthening of muscles, obtain and maintain in the rest on elbows and also getting, depending on the levels of motor evolution, autonomic rolling. After one year treatment, the child has conserved articular ranges, keeping head and trunk on the straightest postures. He is able to be sit alone with his hands on the floor for a few moments. He can also do visual follow movement of objects in a sit position with his head straight and acquisition of a position in support in elbows. There are not significates improvements in motriz levels evolutions. He cannot pass
