Resumen

Background: Cardiovascular illnesses are the leading cause of death and a significant contributor to
healthcare costs in Asia and globally. Effective prevention strategies are critical for reducing
mortality and recurrence of ischemic events, particularly in individuals who have experienced acute
coronary syndrome (ACS).
Objectives: This article aims to review updated cardiovascular preventive strategies, highlight recent
breakthroughs, and discuss the application of these strategies to individuals with ACS.
Methods: A comprehensive review of recent literature and guidelines was conducted to identify
advancements in cardiovascular prevention and their implementation in high-risk populations,
including those with obesity, diabetes mellitus, and other comorbidities
