Introduction: the social lockdown imposed by the declaration of the State of Alarm on March 14th 2020 de-creed by the Spanish Government and motivated by the coronavirus pandemic forced the treatment of outpatients in rehabilitation centers to be provisionally suspended. A health promotion model has been established through the personalized elaboration of exercise protocols, including in a novel way the use of entrenamientos.com website and continuous telephone monitoring. Objective: to keep or improve therapeutical alliance and pain control. Material and method: single-group, experimental, clinical trial in patients with musculoskeletal pathology undergoing surgery, between 50 and 75 years old, who had been in outpatient physiotherapy treatment for at least two months.
intervention: it is carried out in two phases: in the first phase, an initial interview, own questionnaire, pain and the-rapeutic alliance are measured and a personalized exercise protocol is sent. In the second phase the interview, the pain and therapeutic alliance evaluation are repeated, and it is concluded by repeating their own questionnaire.
results: improvements are registered after the intervention increasing knowledge of therapeutic resources. All the patients report knowing them in the post-intervention survey. The therapeutic alliance evaluated in phase II pre-sent a negative but statistically significant correlation with the intensity of pain of patients (p = 0.017). Conclusions: the remote postoperative approach through telephone follow-up and development of personalized exercise protocols seems to have a positive impact on pain control at the core of a pandemic.
