Abstract

Benign gynecological diseases, including uterine fibroids, endometriosis, adenomyosis, ovarian cysts, pelvic organ prolapse, and other reproductive tract disorders, are common conditions that may cause abnormal bleeding, pelvic pain, infertility, and reduced quality of life. Laparoscopic hysterectomy (LH) has become an important minimally invasive approach for definitive treatment of selected benign gynecological diseases. This review article aims to summarize the common benign gynecological conditions and illustrate the role of LH by discussing its types, indications, contraindications, surgical techniques, advantages, complications, and clinical outcomes. The article highlights that LH provides reduced surgical trauma, lower blood loss, shorter hospital stay, faster recovery, less postoperative pain, and improved visualization of pelvic anatomy compared with conventional abdominal surgery. With proper patient selection and surgical expertise, laparoscopic hysterectomy represents an effective and safe approach for managing benign gynecological diseases and improving women quality of life.
