Abstract

Background: Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) is a highly prevalent gastrointestinal disorder encountered frequently in internal medicine practice, with a significant impact on patient quality of life and healthcare utilization. Conventional diagnostic modalities, including upper gastrointestinal endoscopy, 24-hour esophageal pH monitoring, and impedance studies, while effective, are invasive, costly, and not always readily available.
