Abstract

This study examines the relationship between leisure time barriers that affect university students' participation in
campus recreation activities and life satisfaction and evaluates the mediating role of motivation in this process.
Statistical analyses applied to the data obtained within the scope of the research were carried out using the SPSS
statistical package program. 335 university students participated in the study. In the first part of the research, a
personal information form was used, in the second part, the recreational activity motivation scale developed by Özant
et al. (2024), in the third part, the life satisfaction scale developed by Diener et al. (1985) and adapted to Turkish by
Köker (1991), and in the last part, the leisure time barriers scale adapted to Turkish culture by Yılmaz and Altunöz
(2025) for campus recreation was used.
