Cryotherapy is a modality that is used commonly in the management of the acute sports injuries.
n sport Physiotherapy is used at temperatures between 1-10 °C, to get effects so as: decrease of the haemorrhage and edema, moderation of the metabolism, decrease of the muscular spasm and pain, and so on.
The purpose of this study is carry out a literary review to get explain the physiological basis which support the use of cryotherapy in the acute period of the sports injuries, getting so a better use of this therapy.
