Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming Research and Development (R&D) by
enhancing productivity, reducing costs, and reshaping workforce dynamics. This study explores
AI's impact on R&D, focusing on automation, data-driven decision-making, and innovation
acceleration. The research employs a mixed-method approach, utilizing secondary data from
surveys and industry reports to analyze AI’s influence on productivity and cost efficiency,
particularly in the biopharmaceutical sector. Findings indicate that AI-driven automation
streamlines repetitive tasks, accelerates data analysis, and optimizes resource allocation, leading
to a 30–50% increase in productivity and significant cost reductions.
