Abstract

This research focuses on the phytochemical analysis and characterization of the methanol root extract of Ipomoea cairica, a plant known for its medicinal properties. The methanol extract was subjected to several phytochemical tests, which revealed the presence of important bioactive compounds such as carbohydrates and tannins. Other compounds, such as phenols, flavonoids, alkaloids, glycosides, sterols, and diterpenes, were found to be absent, indicating that the root extract of Ipomoea cairica may primarily contain tannins and carbohydrates as its major constituents.
