CAREGIVER BURDEN AND IMPACT OF PSYCHOLOGICAL INTERVENTIONS ON CAREGIVERS OF PATIENTS WITH DEPRESSIVE DISORDERS

: Depression is the most common mental illness and is considered to be a chronic
illness due to frequent recurrences, with sustained impairment in the functioning and need for longer
duration of treatment. Caregivers of patients with psychiatric disorders suffer from high levels of
burden. METHODS: caregiver burden was assessed using Montgomery Caregiver Burden Scale.
Psychological interventions including psychoeducation and coping strategies were taught to the
patients. Score were calculated at first and third visit.
