A person’s life is believed to consist of three big occasions namely the birth of the person, the wedding, and the funeral of the person which are considered the most important part of his life. Of these three occasions the wedding and funeral reflect the traditional and cultural background of the person. This paper aims to document the knowledge on the Hmar wedding customs and funeral rites for the easy accessibility of the knowledge by the present and later generations and also to understand the significance of these customs
