Abstract

Clinical outcome assessments (COAs) are crucial tools for measuring a patient's state of feeling, functioning ability, or
level of survival. They are classified into patient-reported, clinician-reported, observer-reported, and performance based outcomes. COAs are evaluated based on reliability, responsiveness, interpretability, construct validity, and content validity. Clinical trials often face high failure rates due to poor endpoint measurements, making a well validated and accurate COA essential for evidence-based healthcare decision-making. e-COA systems are increasingly being used to make data collection, management, and analysis easier and more accurate.
