Abstract

The Juvenile Justice system in India is governed by the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015 which is enacted with the objective of ensuring welfare of the child. The JJ Act has also introduced a differential approach to juvenile delinquency in cases of children between the age of 16 and 18 years and has mandated a different and stricter procedure in such cases.
