BIOFEEDBACK IN PHYSIOTHERAPY

Biofeedback is a tool of Behavioral Psychology. It is based on the possibility of a person taking voluntary control of psychophysiologic parameters through the simultaneous information about them that is being given.
Electromyographic-biofeedback is a specific modality of this type of therapy with important ap¬ plications in Physiotherapy, especially on processes with behavioral alterations related to the neuromuscular system.
In this article the theoretical and practical bases of this tool are described. Also, many clinical studies are described which measure the effectiveness of this tool on diseases such as incontinence, muscle paralysis etc.
