This paper tries to present the experience obtained through a sanitary education programmed and health promotion directed at senior citizen and developed in Community Centers, intended for the growing number of people by the Council of Seville. It is a community attention program developed on the margins of the SAS (Andalusian Health Service), thanks to the collaboration between a team of physiotherapists and the Council of Seville.
The goal that we try to achieve is, on the one hand, helping senior citizens keeping the healthiest possible conditions, preventing, as for as possible, the typical alterations of age and, on the other hand, defending Physiotherapy's fundamental role into the integral health's approach proposed by the field of Primary Care.
Materials and methods have been, on the one hand, everyday experience in these centers for senior citizens, where the programmed has been developed, as well as the bibliographical support which supplied us with a priceless help and, on the other hand, the display of the methodological guidance followed for the health programmer's proposal directed at the over-65s community.
Results: from the beginning, this programmed had a growing acceptance by the community which it was directed at, and a great majority of users communicated a remarkable recovering from their habitual aches.
Conclusions: after the making of this paper, we point up the need for the start of new programmed for the community, as well as the recovery and defense of our field in many of them, belonging to Physiotherapy but nowadays performed by other health professionals.
