Premature children: A challenge for Physiotherapy

Abstract

The present article try to show to physiotherapists they not usually work with childrens, the fea¬
ures of the neonates preterm birth.
  Under the «premature» word is known all the babies born before the 38th-40,h week of pregnancy.
  Usually, these child's shows different patterns of development, although this situation don't need a pathology.
  It's absolutely necessary that the physiotherapist knows the variations of the normality (physical misshapen, abnormal growth, transitory hiperthony...) of the pathology.
  By the way, professionals would be able to identify early abnormalities that really are associated to pathologies (like Cerebral Palsy for example), correct treatment programs and it could be possible propose realistic objectives for himself and the family.
