Objective: to analyze the activity of the Physiotherapy Unit in Primary Care (PUPC) in the Health Center of Mora de Rubielos (Teruel, Spain), globally and split by the Basic Health Zones (BHZ) covered. Material and method:
ross-sectional study of 157 individual referrals to the PUPC of Mora de Rubielos from November 2017 to december 2018. Referrer, delay in treatment, days of treatment, number of sessions, treatment density and reason for discharge were evaluated. Results: mean age was 55.70 ± 17.0 years, with 63.69 % of the sample being women. Mean delay was 19.20 ± 17.40 days, with a treatment duration of 32.60 ± 16.90 days for 10.20 ± 5.23 sessions. 86.00 % of the patients were discharged as «improvement». Other than referrer, no statistically significant differences were observed between BHZ. Conclusions: almost all patients from Sarrión BHZ were referred from Secondary Care in contrast with the homogeneous distribution of the BHZ of Mora de Rubielos and Mosqueruela.
HZ without PUPC referred less patients when compared to their population. A higher attendance of women to the service was observed, as well as adults and elderly. Physical therapy service was delivered with equity and equality among BHZ, but extrinsic inequality factors and potential areas of improvement were detected.
