Abstract

Background: Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is the principal noninvasive technique for identifying meniscal tears, yet its clinical value extends beyond confirming their presence. Preservation of viable meniscal tissue is increasingly preferred because repair maintains load transmission, joint stability, and chondroprotection more effectively than partial meniscectomy. Preoperative prediction of reparability remains difficult because the surgical decision depends on several interacting variables
