Abstract

Background: Acute myocardial infarction initiates a dynamic process of structural, functional, metabolic, and molecular adaptation that may culminate in adverse left ventricular remodeling and subsequent heart failure despite successful contemporary reperfusion. Sodium–glucose cotransporter-2 inhibitors were originally introduced as glucose-lowering agents; however, their consistent cardiovascular and renal benefits in populations with heart failure and chronic kidney disease have generated substantial interes
