Abstract

Background: Decortication is a surgical procedure aimed at removing fibrous pleural peel to allow lung re-expansion in chronic pleural
diseases such as empyema, hemothorax, and pleural thickening. Over time, surgical approaches have evolved from traditional open
thoracotomy to minimally invasive Video-Assisted Thoracoscopic Surgery
