Abstract

Background:  Striae distensae (SD), commonly known as stretch marks, are frequent dermal lesions characterized by linear atrophy resulting from connective tissue damage. They commonly occur during pregnancy, puberty, rapid weight change, endocrinopathies, and prolonged  corticosteroid exposure. Although benign, striae distensae are often associated with significant cosmetic concern and psychological distress, leading to a high demand for effective treatments.
