Abstract

Background: Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a heterogeneous neurodevelopmental condition characterized by persistent impairments in social communication and the presence of restricted and repetitive behaviors, with a complex etiology involving genetic susceptibility, environmental influences, and disrupted neurophysiological processes. Despite extensive research, the underlying biologicalmechanisms of  ASD remain incompletely understood
