Abstract

A study on “Antenatal care practices adopted by slum pregnant women and their families” was carried out to assess awareness about antenatal care practices among slum pregnant women and to study the effects of selected background variables on adopted antenatal care practices by slum families. Awareness of common pregnancy symptoms was highest for missed menstrual periods (74.66%), nausea and vomiting (74.00%), and itchy skin (67.66%).
