Background: Psychiatric nurses are especially vulnerable to sleep disturbances because they are
exposed to various situations that can disrupt sleep quality, such as work schedules and working
with psychiatric patients, which disturbed their sleep quality. Additionally, self-compassion is an
important concept in helping nurses to cope with difficulties and foster empathy towards patients
leading to improved interactions and care quality.
