Abstract

Burnout is a condition caused by prolong stress, which may arise from having an excessive number of duties either at home or work, and is characterized by feeling drained physically, mentally, or emotionally. It is conceptualized as resulting from chronic workplace stress that has not been successfully managed. Though it can impact healthcare professionals of any kind, it is more commonly found among those who tend to the needs of critically ill patients.
