Abstract

The selection of an appropriate pontic design is a crucial factor in the success and longevity of posterior fixed partial dentures (FPDs), which are widely used to replace missing teeth in the premolar and molar regions. The posterior area requires pontic designs that can withstand occlusal forces, provide comfort, facilitate hygiene maintenance, and, to a lesser extent, meet aesthetic demands.
