Abstract

Background: Musa acuminata peels contain bioactive compounds such as flavonoids, tannins, alkaloids,
glycosides, and terpenoids, which are known for their antibacterial, antihypertensive, antidiabetic, antioxidant,
and anti-inflammatory properties. Despite these benefits, the cytotoxic properties of banana peels remain
underexplored, particularly in dentistry. This study aims to evaluate the cytotoxic effects of banana peel
extracts to determine their safe usage and potential therapeutic applications.
