Abstract

Teachers' professional development (TPD) is crucial for improving the quality of higher education. This
article reviews the current state of TPD at Tribhuvan University (TU), Nepal, assessing policies,
programs, challenges, and opportunities. The article highlights the need for a structured and sustainable
approach to faculty development from existing literature, policy documents, and empirical studies. It
suggests reforms to enhance teaching effectiveness, research capabilities, and engagement with global
educational trends.
