Epilepsy that manifests before the age of one presents many difficulties. It carries a higher risk of cognitive,
behavioural, and developmental problems. One Given how quickly the brain develops in infancy, prompt and
intensive treatment is essential. A severe disorder marked by cognitive impairment, epileptic encephalopathy,
develops in certain children with early-onset epilepsy. One This trend can be identified by certain EEG patterns
and frequent seizures. Although some anti-seizure drugs may cause adverse effects, more recent drugs often
have better tolerance. When assessing novel treatments for children, a comprehensive evaluation of cognitive
and behavioural safety is crucial. For certain situations, alternative treatments including the ketogenic diet and
epilepsy surgery present encouraging alternatives. The focus is on treating each child individually, considering
their particular needs
