Abstract

This study examined the value chain of a small-scale funnel fishery at the confluence of the Zambezi/Chobe River in the Zambezi Region of Namibia, from June to September 2023. A mixed-methods research approach utilizing questionnaires and group discussions was used to collect data from the key actors at the fishery based on their specific roles, socioeconomic characteristics, fish processing activities, and challenges. The study identified three actors, namely fishermen, traders, and vendors, who were actively involved in the fish handling and supply business at the fishery.
